The 2008 Olympics games in Beijing, China once again is preparing for the men's table tennis competitions. Today the game is played with paddle rackets and small plastic balls, which reach 160 kilometers an hour. There are 40 million competitive player worldwide. The XXIX Olympic Games are presumed to be an occasion for the table tennis masters to show their talent. Table tennis made its debut in the 1988 Olympic games in Seoul, and has been a part of the competitions ever since. Once known to many as miniature tennis and played indoors has now become one of the more vigorous competitions in the Olympic games.

The game is simple really as far as scoring goes. The fist player to get eleven points wins the game by winning at least by two points ahead of their opponent. There are rules and regulations to the game of Table Tennis and any opponent entering the competition who does not comply with them will be suspended from play. The table in which the game is played on is 14 m long and 7 m wide. A rubber racket is used in the shape of a paddle and a plastic ball with a weight of 2,7 grams is used. A net crosses the table evenly and taut. In this competition there are four events in all. Only two of the events pertain to men however. This event will be in the Peking University Gymnasium however an exact date hasn't been set as of yet. In the last Olympics events China excelled in this event although with the XXIX Olympiad Games officials believe it is an event for all during the 2008 Olympic games this time. There are so many actual competitions in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China coming up in this next year, there will be something for everyone.
