Equestrian in the Olympics

Although the Olympic games were in a solid foundation before the introduction of this event, by the 2004 Olympics the Equestrian event had made it to the Olympics and have been since then. Equestrian has three different parts; Jumping, dressage, and style of the event. All of these are considered when it comes to the judging of the event.

The 2008 Olympics summer events will be held in Beijing, China. And once again, those who represent their nation or country will be competing in the equestrian event. The first part of this event is of training horses for competition. Dressage, is considered a method of trying to train a horse for exact and precise movements. These dressage-style moves were initiated by the Greeks. Although in modern times dressage was considered enthusiastic with horse trainers.

The second part of the equestrian event involves jumping. Jumping is originally based on foxhunting and having to jump logs and boards. However over time tests were done to validate the talent of a horse and how it could jump. The competitions for horses jumping were developed by the Dublin Society and ventured into the Olympic atmosphere. The last part of the equestrian is basically a test of the horse. Either by traveling long distances or going through an obstacle course with ease and not running into things.

Now, it is one of the more watched events in the Olympics. The event consists of individual competition and judging as well as doubles or teams.
