Olympics Closing Ceremony
On Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 8pm Beijing, China will host the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympics at National Stadium. There is some multi billion numbers of people who are expected to watch the closing ceremony and that is not including those who are present at National Stadium to watch it live. After all of the events are completed, the closing ceremony must take place within the stadium itself as that is part of the protocol. The closing ceremony is guaranteed to be a spectacular and inspiring event. Beijing officials who are in charge of this event realize that they have to follow in some difficult footsteps to surpass former Olympic hosts such as Athens and Sydney. This is an event that will be remembered forever and to attend in person tickets are available with the best seats selling for a few hundred dollars a piece and the least expensive seats going for under $50. The next Olympic event will not be until 2010 in Vancouver.
The 2008 Olympics will be held in Beijing, China beginning on August 8-24 and the Chinese have promised that they will be the best ever. There will be more than 10,500 athletes from over 200 nations engaging in 28 different sports for this colossal event deemed the XXIX Olympiad. The closing ceremony will be the grand finale after the 302 Olympic events. The theme for the 2008 Olympics is One World, One Dream but the theme for the closing ceremony is harmony and civilization, primarily focusing on the evolution of the Chinese civilization. Some of the agenda for the closing ceremony includes spectacular fireworks, celebrity performances, and a unique parade. These are just a few of the usual things to expect in almost all Olympic closing ceremonies. Up until the final moment of the ceremony itself, it is common to try and keep the most outstanding events a secret. These are events that have been planned for years by an assigned committee.
In Beijing for the 2008 Olympics there are plans for those who can not afford tickets or in the event that tickets are sold out, a party will be held for those who wish to watch the closing ceremony in an air conditioned venue without any stadium transfers. Referred to as the Sportsworld Ceremony, this is the party where people can watch the ceremony, eat, drink, and feel like they are a part of the event. The cost of the closing ceremony is about $100 but it does include live entertainment, wine, food, and soft drinks. Getting tickets to the closing ceremony might not be that simple as they went on sale in April 07 to the general public. Tickets to the general public account for 75% of the sales to this ceremony and by June of 07, one third of the tickets had already been sold. The two most popular events of the Olympics are the opening and closing ceremonies. These are sure to be events that will be amazing for all to see. One World, One Dream!
